I often have to work in fairly tight spaces, which exacerbates the challenge of showing the context of a space. In this instance, I wanted to illustrate the waiting room, but felt it was important to also show how people would move from there to other spaces in the facility. To do this required very precise positioning of the camera; an inch or two one way or the other would have obscured important details. And because there was a very large range of brightness in this space, it was necessary to employ high-dynamic-range techniques to render it as the eye would see it.
