Heirloom Quilt #6

I was very surprised and honored to receive this quilt from Mary Lou Bandy in her will. Mary Lou was a distant cousin of my mother's. I remember visiting her when I was a child at her farm near Mt. Sterling, Ohio, but had not often seen her in my adult years. The quilt, the "Yo-Yo" pattern, was made, I think, by Mary Lou's aunt, Mary Mogan. The Yo-Yo is unique because it doesn't have batting or a backing; the Yo-Yos make their own front and back. Technically, the Yo-Yo is considered by some to be a coverlet, but I am including it here because it serves much the same purpose as a quilt -- and it is very special to me.
